PFP Setup

How to correctly setup and use PFP protection.

Follow these commands and then run a /pfp cleanse afterwards. Once PFP Protection is configured, Hashbot will automatically ban any violations going forward.

Review the list before banning to ensure your filters are properly calibrated. It may sometimes be necessary to review the server activity of some users when first implementing PFP Protection and before implementing blanket bans.

If you add PFPs to the filter before allowlisting Team/users, Hashbot will ban those users. See here for more info on how to set up the Allowlist.

/pfp-filters add server

First, you'll want to protect your server image. This is the server icon uploaded in the Overview section of your server settings. Scammers sometimes use this image to appear as official members of your team.

If you routinely change your server image, be sure to run this command each time it is changed, or upload the image as described below.

Usage	Description
/pfp-filters add server	Adds the current server image as a filter

/pfp-filters add role

Next, designate the roles which you desire PFP protection. This will include all Admin/Team/Moderator roles you want protected. Add each role you do not want anyone impersonating the PFPs of.

/pfp-filters add upload

If there are any other problematic PFPs you have seen in your server or any you wish to manually add, you can upload them from your device. Be sure to use high quality images.

/pfp-filters add upload <image>	Add an image as a filter

/pfp-filters add user

Sometimes it might be useful to add a specific user to the filter. You can do so with either their @name or Discord user ID.

Usage	Description
/pfp add user <user> <type>	Add a user's profile picture as a filter

When prompted for "type" use the drop down menu to select one or both of the following:

Designation	Definition
Server	PFP an individual uses for your specific server.
Global	PFP the individual uses for their Discord account

/pfp-filters list

This command will show you all active filters in your list. Depending on your additions, this list might be long. Each PFP added will have unique ID attached to it.

/pfp-filters list	Lists all PFP filters currently enabled

/template pfp

We have included a list of PFPs commonly used by bad actors and scammers. You can apply this template if you wish. We will cover the template operation more later.

Usage	Description
/template pfp apply	Adds recommended filters to this server

You should now run a /pfp-filters cleanse and check the results. If you are satisfied with the list of hits, click the ban button!
